Why does tracking asset performance seem so difficult? We believe certain conventional market elements can frustrate performance and performance monitoring. Unfortunately, these elements are often well embedded in the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) process, and can lead to vague, technically onerous metrics, inconsistent insights, and lack-lustre results.

TO CONVENTIONAL MARKET CHALLENGES

At SOLTRAK we believe that what constitutes the performance of renewable energy assets should be clear, unambiguous and simple to follow. Equally, tracking performance as an investor should be easy and convenient. We have designed solutions to combat both the conventional, and non-conventional market challenges surrounding energy asset operations and performance. Our solutions-centred approach focuses on achieving clear contractual terms, providing visibility and easy access to plant operations and independently determining performance metrics. We achieve these goals via:

O&M Contract Support

We facilitate a balanced Operations and Maintenance agreement, with clear terms, scope of works and well-defined underperformance penalty mechanisms. This contract is updated to account for the latest market movements and is developed in partnership with one of South Africa’s top law firms. We believe that the O&M agreement sets the foundation for effective asset management and performance. Where possible, a fair and robust contract should be in place from day one.

SOLTRAK PLATFORM

Providing access to the SOLTRAK live-monitoring platform, for on-demand performance metrics, including energy, revenue and emissions savings. Users are able to quickly compare metrics across multiple assets, access the best and worst performing sites and view or download SOLTRAK and O&M monthly and annual reports. In order to provide greater visibility and convenience, all raw data is available for download, and clients can opt to receive performance related notifications on a per-site basis.

INDEPENDENT REPORTING

Supplying independently generated performance reports on a monthly and annual basis, with a focus on performance evaluations and energy, revenue and emissions savings. These reports allow clients to have access to energy production summaries, showing how monthly and annual production statistics contrasts with baseline predictions. Performance reports are developed to provide time-of-use tariff savings, as well as export and demand savings, allowing the client to easily track an asset’s financial performance.
